Look! Here I am with another lion! He is the symbol of Venice and you can see him in lots of places around the city. It looks like he is learning to read just like me! I wonder where he got his wings from? I think I would like a pair.
Guess what! I found out that in another city, called Siena, every district (in Italian you say contrada ) is named after its very own symbol. Most of them are animals or birds. Here they are:
Every year the contrade of Siena have a horse race in the Piazza. It is called Il Palio.
